Since 2002 Sabine Bredemeyer has been actively collaborating in the development of the international initiative "Spirit in Business".
Leading consultants, entrepreneurs, and managers from all over the world joined this initiative, which has set the goal of connecting managers in business globally for shared learning, exchange, and pioneering new pathways for ensuring the future for the next generations.
In 2006 Spirit in Business started to transform and stoped it's activities. It is now in a process of transformation into a new organizational form.
Conferences, seminars, workshops, and retreats that had taken place around the world and offered a platform for exchange helped managers, for their own sakes as well as for the benefit of all, to master their responsibilities with a greater awareness of their own and the creative potential of individuals and organizations. From 2003 to 2006 there were 70 projects being implemented on every continent in the world.
Since 2006 Spirit in Business doesn't exist any more in this form. In several countries one can find groups of this name now which were created based on this organization.
The impetus was given in 1999 by the Dalai Lama, who said during a conference in Amsterdam that business is the only thing that will have an influence on the future of this planet.
Called into life by Andrew Ferguson, Marcello Palazzi, and Sander Tideman, the first Spirit in Business World Conference was held subsequently in 2002 in New York under the name "Beyond the Bottom Line – examining the growing confluences of ethics, mindfulness and business." Approximately 550 business leaders from every part of the world took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas about new ways in business and to learn from one another. Sponsors included American Express, Hewlett Packard, and Fores. Among the founding members of this initiative are David Cooperrider, Diana Whitney, Peter Senge, Hazel Henderson, and other well-known names from the international business arena.
In 2003 the international Spirit in Business conference was held in San Francisco.

The mission of Spirit in Business had big impact to the mission of many "new born" international initiatives: "to connect leaders in a global community of inquiry, learning and action, to release the creative power of individuals and organizations for the benefit of the whole".
